JOE TIZZARD: 'I THINK HE'S CAPABLE OF BEING COMPETITIVE'
14:25 Warwick – Sea Warrior
Sea Warrior clipped heels and went down at Wincanton last month, but he was absolutely fine after that. This is a nice £20,000 prize pot for these 0–110 rated horses, so we’re keen to get him back out. That was only his fourth run, so he’s less exposed than some of these and I think he’s capable of being competitive in a what is a big field, as we all look to take the opportunities available.
SEAN BOWEN: 'I WOULDN'T SWAP MY HORSE FOR ANY OTHER IN THE FIELD'
12:45 Warwick – Gee Force Flyer
Gee Force Flyer likes real soft ground and it hasn’t been soft enough for him on his last couple of starts. We will see what the ground is like on the day and if Olly is not happy with it, we may not even run him. He is a horse we like and when he gets his conditions he will be winning races over hurdles.
13:52 Warwick – Wade Out
Wade Out has made a good start to his chase career, with two wins from two starts. He is a horse that runs very lazily and needs a few reminders but I think he has improved massively since switching to fences. This race is a great stepping stone towards Cheltenham and the ratings suggest he is the one to beat. Hopefully, he can maintain his 100% record over fences.
14:25 Warwick – Dr Waksman
I haven’t ridden Dr Waksman before, but he was a decent horse on the Flat. Chris Gordon’s runners are in great form, so I’ve chosen to ride this horse over Ukantango. This will be his first run in a handicap hurdle and hopefully he can work with a mark of 107.
Uktantago has just changed ownership. He had an injury, and his form since then has not been as good. I think he will need this run, and he should be back to his best later in the year.
14:55 Warwick – Resplendent Grey
I was very disappointed with Resplendent Grey in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury as he got into a bad position early in the race and never really recovered. I think that run can be forgiven and I am really looking forward to getting back on board as I still have a lot of confidence in him.
L’Homme Presse is obviously the highest-rated runner in the race, but we will be getting 8lb from him. Myretown also deserves a lot of respect, based on what he achieved last season. It’s a good race but I wouldn’t swap my horse for any other in the field.
15:32 Warwick – Long Draw
Long Draw ran poorly at Cheltenham on his latest outing which is very unusual for him, as he normally produces his best at Prestbury Park. He is a horse that has been rising in the weights without winning with his last winning mark being 128, and his current rating is 136. I do think he is capable off this mark, but I wouldn’t say he was well handicapped.
