In our latest Coral Racing Ambassador blog, David Probert, Hugo Palmer and Jim Crowley, each share their thoughts on their rides and runners on Day Three at Royal Ascot.

HUGO PALMER: 'HE COULD RUN A MASSIVE RACE'

17:00 Royal Ascot – Hawksbill, Seagolazo and Wolf Of Badenoch

Hawksbill is probably the best handicapped of the quartet, he needs to settle better in his races, but with a big field here, he should be able to get some cover and finish his race off very well. He worked at Southwell ten days ago and that was very exciting, so if he’s drawn in the right place, he could run a massive race.

Seagolazo knocked his leg six weeks ago which meant we’ve not been able to get a run into him this season, which is annoying, as coming here first time up is a hard thing to do. However, his work at home has been very good, and I hope he can run well.

We’re claiming three pounds off the Wolf Of Badenoch, to win a Britannia is hard enough, and to win off top weight is harder still. He has been rated higher than his current mark though, and if the race set up for him and he there was pace up front for him to aim at, he could run very nicely.

DAVID PROBERT: 'HE WILL RELISH THE FAST GROUND'

17:00 Royal Ascot – Fearnot

He is a progressive three-year-old who won convincingly over this course and distance on his last start. Since he returned to training at the start of the season, he has been showing lots of good work at home, so we were delighted to see him put his best foot forward last time. The handicapper has put him up 10lb for that victory, so we will find out how good he is from this latest mark.

I think he has the perfect profile for the Britannia Stakes. He will relish the fast ground and hopefully, the high draw works out well for him. This is obviously a tough race to win, but I am excited to be on board my horse and I am sure he has a lively chance.

18:10 Royal Ascot – Cerulean Bay

My second ride on Day Three is on board Cerulean Bay for David O’Meara. He won off this mark off 96 last August. His form dipped a little after that success, but he did produce a much better run at Chester last time, finishing fifth of 13 runners. This looks to be an open-looking contest, and although we are a big price in the betting, if he produces his best, he is capable of finishing in the frame.

JIM CROWLEY: 'HE WOULD HAVE AN EACH-WAY CHANCE'

15:05 Royal Ascot – Grecian Legacy

I rode Grecian Legacy to win at Goodwood two runs ago, and he then ran a nice race to finish second at Epsom under Hollie Doyle, so he’s in good form since being gelded at the end of last year.  He won’t mind quick ground, he is stepping up in trip so has to prove he will get the mile and a half, but this ground should help that, and if he does stay, he would have an each-way chance in a competitive big field.
