DAVID PROBERT: 'I THINK MY HORSE HAS AS GOOD A CHANCE AS ANY'
13:20 Goodwood – Sheradann
Sheradann is a two-time winner in France, but he has yet to prevail in the UK. He ran well at this course two starts back when third behind Aggagio. He is now stepping up in trip to 2m4f, and I think he has the stamina for this distance. This is a competitive looking race, but I think my horse has as good of a chance as any runners in this field.
14:30 Goodwood – Afentiko
Afentiko led the field for a long way in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot but just faded in the closing stages. He ran well in the Silver Bowl at Haydock two runs back, and if he can repeat that performance, he will be competitive in this contest.
16:20 Goodwood – Ardisia
Ardisia looked good when prevailing in a novice contest at Salisbury. Unfortunately, he has not followed that up on his last two starts. This is his second run since he was gelded, and he is now up 6f. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some improvement here.
HUGO PALMER: 'MY HORSES ARE IN GREAT ORDER AT THE MOMENT'
13:55 Goodwood – Seagulls Eleven
Seagulls Eleven is looking as good as he ever has. He is going to need to produce another career best here, as this is a strong Group Three, but I think this is a Group One in all but name, with Opera Ballo and Cosmic Year in here.
We will need the market principles to run below their best. If they do, my horses are in great order at the moment, and it would be great to see him build on that excellent run at Newmarket last time.
16:20 Goodwood – Ardisia and Game Striker
Ardisia has not had much luck recently. He was finishing strongly behind a wall of horses in the Super Sprint at Newbury after a slow start. I think the step up to 6f will help him.
We know Game Striker handles this track, as she won here over this C&D in a maiden. Her work has been pleasing, and this is a more realistic level compared to her appearance in a Listed contest on her latest start.
