Coral Racing Ambassadors, Joe Tizzard and Sean Bowen, bring us the inside scoop on each of their runners and rides at Newbury on Coral Challow Hurdle Day.

JOE TIZZARD: 'I THINK HE'S WORTH HIS PLACE IN THE FIELD'

13:50 Newbury – Rivers Corner

Rivers Corner won here for us last season, and he's run two lovely races this season, the form of his Exeter third has been franked and then he finished third in what looked a decent London National last time. We've got lovely ground for this time of year, and he gets in here off a lovely low racing weight. I hope he can go very well.

14:22 Newbury – Diamond Ri

We had three in this but we'll wait for a veterans' race for Bourbali and Etna Bianco goes in the Coral Challow, so we rely on Diamond Ri. He was pulled up here last time, and was just a bit off colour for a few days, but I'm much happier with him now, and although he may need this run to put him straight, he's a lovely horse and it will be good to get him going the right way again.

15:00 Newbury – Etna Bianco

We are rolling the dice a bit running this fellow in the Grade One Coral Challow as I do think No Drama This End will be hard to beat, but the rest all look fairly closely matched. Having won well at Ascot last time after a good reappearance at Cheltenham, I think he's worth his place in the field. He's a horse we like, and we'll know more about him and his future plans after this, and I do think he's capable of being placed here.

15:35 Newbury – Rightsotom

We're stepping Rightsotom up in trip here as I thought 2m3f at Doncaster last time was just sharp enough for him. The extra distance will suit, as will the track. He's run well enough so far this season anyway, and if the trip brings out some improvement, he should go well enough.

SEAN BOWEN: 'THIS IS MY BEST CHANCE OF THE DAY'

12:05 Newbury – Golden Falls

This three-year-old filly was a winner over hurdles in France before moving to the UK. She struggled a little on her opening start at this course, and although she has been eased 5lb for that, based on the run, her handicap mark probably looks harsh.

We are hoping she can bounce back to what she showed in France. She is still young and I am sure she has plenty of improvement in her.

13:15 Newbury – Pleasington

Pleasington ran well at Wetherby two starts back, and then, for whatever reason, he was disappointing when stepping up in trip at Aintree which we didn't see coming. We have dropped him back to 2m here, and he has been successful twice before over this trip.

I think Olly Murphy’s horses are now running much better than they did when this horse last appeared. I do expect to see a better performance from him than we saw at Aintree.

14:22 Newbury – Scorpio Rising

Scorpio Rising improved a lot for his second straight success last time at Lingfield. That came on his handicap debut. He jumped well and travelled strongly throughout. He is a horse who looks to be on the up, so I think he can defy this 8lb rise in the ratings. This is my best chance of the day.

15:35 Newbury – Harsh

This will be Harsh’s first run for Mickey after arriving from Gordon Elliott’s yard. He was successful twice over hurdles in Ireland, and he has produced a couple of good runs over fences. Hopefully, the change in scenery will have helped and he can put in a good showing.
