David Probert Saturday Blog | Goodwood
Coral Racing Ambassador, David Probert, previews his six rides at Goodwood on Saturday, including Muddy Mooy in the Listed Conqueror Fillies' Stakes.
13:30 Goodwood – Diamond Dreamer
He is a cool horse who has been consistent all year. Goodwood should suit him. Patrick (Chamings) says he is in good order. He was a winner last time so there is a lot to like about his chances in this small field.
14:00 Goodwood – Muddy Mooy
She has been quite keen recently. This is a tough assignment for her, but she will be staying on strongly, so the faster they go early, the better her chances of getting into the frame.
15:20 Goodwood – Havana Tobouggaloo
She ran well on her debut at Bath, finishing fourth of nine runners. We will be hoping she takes another step forward here. She will be getting weight off the opposite sex in this field, and she should know what it is all about now.
15:55 Goodwood – Galyx
I had a sit on him last week around Kempton. I am pleased with how he has built out over the winter. To me, he looks an even stronger horse now. He would appreciate a little rain, but Jack Channon would not run him if he did not think he would act on the ground. This is a horse who could be set for a good season.
16:33 Goodwood – Berkshire Smudge
It was a decent run last time at Beverley, but he was keen in that race. He just wants a nice even gallop. There is no reason why he can’t come forward again and be competitive in this contest.
17:05 Goodwood – Brighton Boy
He was in great form last season and the team at Kingsclere are happy with him. He is another one who would probably prefer some rain. It looks a competitive contest to finish the card.
2000 Guineas Preview
If I could ride any horse in the 2000 Guineas, it would be Field Of Gold. He is a lovely Kingman colt who won the Craven Stakes impressively. It is exciting for Kieran Shoemark, who I am delighted for. He handles the track well and it is going to take a good one to beat him.
