Coral Racing Ambassador, Hugo Palmer, previews his runners on day one of the St Leger Festival at Doncaster!
13:50 Doncaster – Stardom Glory
We kick off the St Leger meeting with a pair of juvenile runners. Stardom Glory is a horse we like a lot and he handled some ease in the ground at York. I thought he ran very well that day, he probably just got taken on up front too far out. I think this intermediate 6 ½ furlongs trip will be perfect for him and I hope that he can go really well.
16:45 Doncaster – Weekend Roar
This fellow had a choice of options here, either over a mile or seven furlongs and we have gone for the latter. We know he’ll improve for a step up in trip, we knew that going into the race at York last time, over six furlongs and we could well run him over a mile before the season finishes. However, for now seven should suit. He will appreciate some ease in the ground, so any further rain should help him also.
