Coral Racing Ambassador, Hugo Palmer, previews his four runners on Friday, including his sole entry at Doncaster on the second day of the St Leger Festival, Roaring Legend.

13:15 Doncaster – Roaring Legend

We were a little bit disappointed with the way his effort petered out in the Ebor, he travelled quite well but got too far back in his run, and although he wasn’t beaten very far in the end, he never looked like being involved.

We’ve put the cheekpieces on him here, and in a smaller field I hope he will be seen to better effect.  We’ll try to be a bit more positive on him, he seems in very good form, and his work since York has been very pleasing so I hope he can run a big race.

14:45 Chester – Kindest Nation & He’s A Gentleman

We run two in the seven furlongs handicap.  He’s A Gentleman has had a quiet summer as he is more of a winter horse, although he has won on turf.  He’s drawn in seven which is OK, and this should set him up for a busier time to come.

Kindest Nation has had a frustrating year, but they have had some rain here, so while the ground may tighten up by Saturday, I think we’ll get away with it for her here, as she definitely needs cut in the ground to be at her best, and a draw in stall five should be fine.

16:55 Chester – Balon d’Or

Balon d’Or has been disappointing this year, but then he has been disappointing most of life bar the two occasions he’s won!  He’s drawn very well in stall two, and he can definitely win off this current mark if he decides he wants to.
