14:55 Beverley – Fans Favourite
We’ve been waiting for some cut in the ground for this horse and he’s got it here, as the going is currently soft at Beverley. He’s in good order at home, he looks great and with only 11 declared it’s a relatively small field for a race of this nature. It’s been a difficult summer for horses that want some give in the ground so he’s done well to win twice this season. Fingers-crossed he can get a third success here.
15:10 Goodwood – Seagulls Eleven
This has been one of the big targets for this horse all season, along with the Summer Mile at Ascot in July, since he won in France in May. He also won at Epsom, that was a Group 3, and he is yet to win at this Group 2 level, but this is much calmer waters than the Sussex Stakes he ran in last time.
Any rain that comes will help him, it looks as if there will be some and we know he likes the track as a course and distance winner. He’s in really good order, and this is the right race for him, so I hope he puts in another big run for his owners.
15:30 Sandown – Mia Fantasia
We are turning this horse around quite quickly after his win at York last week, but he’s come out of that really well. He enjoyed getting his toe in at York, and he should get that ground again at Sandown. Hopefully he can step forward and overtake horses who have been showing their best form on firmer ground.
