13:45 Newmarket – Brigid’s Well
Brigid’s Well has done very well from two to three years old and I’ve been very pleased with all her work at home. We’re dropping back into quite deep waters again, but that’s where we’ll learn more about her.
The dream would be for her to develop into an Oaks filly, and she’ll obviously need to run very well here to justify that. She worked nicely on the Rowley Mile at the Craven Meeting, which gives us confidence to come and have a go.
She looks great and is versatile as far as the ground is concerned, so any rain overnight into Sunday morning wouldn’t be an issue for her.
14:20 Newmarket – Cheshire Dancer
Cheshire Dancer is an experienced mare whose work has improved steadily through the spring. She gave the impression last year that she needed her first run, so we’ll just see how she comes forward for this.
I’ve done as much work with her at home as I can, and a slight step up in trip should suit. This looks a good starting point to get her season underway.
