Hugo Palmer Blog | Saturday Runners
Coral Racing Ambassador, Hugo Palmer, previews his five Saturday runners across the cards at Beverley, Leicester, Sandown & Nottingham!
14:52 Beverley – High Hazard
High Hazard ran well at Beverley last time to finish second, that was a big step forward from his debut run and I think he’s come forward again for his second run. Only six line up for this race so it looks a good opportunity for him, he is improving all the time, everything he’s shown us suggests he’s up to winning his maiden, so let’s hope it’s here.
15:20 Leicester – Diamond Aura
Diamond Aura is a very genuine filly but unfortunately perhaps not the most talented. I thought this was going to be another small field but close to declarations closing the numbers shot up and she’s one of ten that runs. She is in the horses in training sale at Newmarket next week, she does have a nice pedigree and she didn’t do a lot wrong when finishing fourth at Brighton last time, so fingers-crossed she can finally win a race for us.
16:10 Sandown – Sunny Smile
Sunny Smile looks fantastic, he looks in really good order following his second place at Ffos Las last month. Only five go against him here, we’re getting weight from all of them and we have Oisin [Murphy] in the saddle, so hopefully he can work his magic.
16:35 Beverley – Enamorus
Enamorus has just been a slightly tricky filly, I felt last time that she wasn’t giving Oisin Murphy everything, interestingly he felt that she wanted a step up in trip to a mile, so that’s what we’ve done here. We’ve also put the cheekpieces on her to try to sharpen her up and given the talent we think she has, it’s about time she showed it and won a race!
20:30 Nottingham – Regulus Black
Regulus Black is another horse in next week’s sale but he did well to win at Chepstow two runs ago and then couldn’t quite follow up over a furlong further at Hamilton last time. He’s back over ten furlongs here, this will be his last run for us but he’s doing well physically and I do think there are more races to be won with him. Hopefully he can sign off his Manor House Stables career with a second win.
