13:30 Chester – Triple Double A
I was disappointed with Triple Double A when he came back from Newbury but his blood picture wasn’t right afterwards, which at least gave us a reason for the run. He seems in much better order now and hopefully he can bounce back to form here.
It’s a very competitive race and there are some strong contenders in there, but I do think a turning track over a mile and a quarter is probably ideal for him. Chester should suit him well if he can get into a nice rhythm early on, and we’re hoping to see a much-improved performance.
16:45 Chester – Watcha Snoop
Watcha Snoop would really like a bit of rain and whether or not he runs could depend on the weather, because conditions might not ease enough for him. We’ll keep an eye on things, but at the moment he’s a slightly doubtful runner.
If the rain does arrive and he takes his chance, he’s the type who could run a solid race under the right conditions.
17:20 Chester – Patagonia Girl
Patagonia Girl is very much the opposite to Watcha Snoop in that she wants the rain to stay away. Everything she’s done so far has suggested this step up in trip will suit her well and we did consider running her in the same race as Triple Double A earlier on the card, but felt this looked a slightly easier opportunity.
The draw makes life a little bit tricky, but she’s got a capable young apprentice on board and hopefully he can get her into a good early position. She’s already a winner around Chester, which is always a positive here and I’m hopeful she can run a big race.
We thought we might win the first race at the meeting earlier in the week and that didn’t quite happen, so hopefully we can finish things off by winning the last on Friday instead.
