Jim Crowley Weekend Blog | Haydock & York
13:50 Haydock – Too Bossy For Us
He ran very well on his penultimate start over this C&D behind Align The Stars, but he was then disappointing at York. We are adding cheekpieces onto him for this latest run and hopefully, they will help him concentrate on the job at hand. If he bounces back from his latest run, he has a solid each-way chance.
15:35 Haydock – Jasour
I think my runner is the best horse in the race, but he is his own worst enemy at times, as he can run quite keenly. He ran too freely in the Commonwealth Cup, and it was the same in the July Cup. I thought he ran a cracker in the latter to finish fifth.
We wouldn’t want any rain overnight with this horse as he prefers good ground. If I can get him to settle into the race, he will have an excellent chance as he is a very talented sprinter.
16:40 Haydock – Leadenhall
I’ve not ridden this horse before, but I can see his sole success came over this C&D from a 2lb lower mark, so that’s encouraging form. He has lost his way a little on his last three starts but let’s hope a return to Haydock will help.
Sunday
15:25 York – Markoon
I think a lot of this horse. I fully expected him to add to his tally at Newbury last time out, but he did not settle. We are dropping him back down to 1m here and I expect him to show his best once again.
