15:35 Newmarket – Elwateen
She was fourth in the 1000 Guineas on just her second career start. We then tried her in the Oaks at Epsom, where she didn’t quite stay. She is now dropping back down in trip, and as we saw with Delacroix in the Coral-Eclipse, these three-year-olds can bounce back following a run in the British Classics.
We were happy with her work heading into the Oaks, and we have been pleased with everything we have seen since then. I think she is a very good filly, and I am expecting a big performance here. The ground will be perfect for her, and it would be no surprise to me if she prevailed.
16:10 Newmarket – Hengroin
This horse has been progressing all the time. He was green on his debut at Salisbury. He then ran a nice race at Windsor, finishing second of 13 runners. We think he will take another step forward here. He is stepping up to 7f, and this distance should be perfect for him.
