Coral Racing Ambassador, Jim Crowley, gives a preview of his two rides on the first day of the Cesarewitch Meeting at Newmarket, including Fakhama in the Group 3 Fillies and Mares Stakes.

16:10 Newmarket – Kamboo

Kamboo is a nice type trained by my old weighing room colleague, Richard Hughes, but his best form so far has come on the all-weather, including a win at Newcastle two runs ago over this trip. He actually ran in the Derby, which was asking a lot of him, this is much more his level and if he can translate his all-weather form to turf, he can run well at an each-way price here.

16:45 Newmarket  Fakhama

Fakhama is a very well bred Shadwell daughter of Kingman, and I’m really looking forward to riding her on this going, as she’s not had cut in the ground since she won her maiden as a three-year old last year. Her best run since then came on the weather at Chelmsford, while her third place at York this July was a good run.

As I say though, I think the ease in the ground she will get here will really suit her and I hope she can run a big race.
