Coral Racing Ambassador, Jim Crowley, looks ahead at his two rides on the first day of the St Leger Meeting at Doncaster, including Nakheel in the Group 2 Park Hill Fillies' Stakes.

14:25 Doncaster – Popeye Doyle

Popeye Doyle made his debut in a valuable sales race at Deauville, so clearly connections think plenty of him, and he only narrowly missed out on prize money that day.  He should improve for that experience, and although he’s a big price here, there is plenty of money up for grabs and he could well pick up some of it.

15:35 Doncaster – Nakheel

I rode this filly to finish third at York last month, that was over a mile and a half but I think she’ll enjoy this longer trip, she stayed on well that day and should see out the 1m 6f no problem.  She’s versatile ground-wise, and this looks an open Park Hill Stakes, so while it won’t be easy to reverse the York form with Scenic, I’d be hopeful she can run into a place.
