Coral Racing Ambassador, Jim Crowley, previews his two rides at Sandown on Solario Stakes Day including Lohoobb, a colt out of Too Darn Hot, who makes his handicap debut.

16:45 Sandown – Lohoobb

I rode this horse on his debut run at Newbury back in May in a race which was won by the subsequent Chesham Stakes winner, Humidity, who goes earlier on the card in the Solario Stakes. My fellow pulled too hard that day and so never got home, but that can happen with a first time out two-year-old and he’s run much better in two runs since.

His three runs to date have all been over six furlongs, so I think he’ll appreciate this step up an extra furlong to a stiff seven. His style of runs and his breeding suggest that will be the case and I hope he can be competitive from an opening handicap mark of 76.

17:20 Sandown – Lil Guff

This mare is a course and distance winner and has always run well at Sandown, including a second place finish in this race last year. She’s been in good form this season, I was on her last time at Newbury when we were hampered at a crucial time and that cost us so I’m happy to put a line through that run.

The only negative here is a draw of stall 12. I do prefer to be drawn low over the minimum trip here, but we’ll make the best of it. Given how well she goes at the track, I’d be hopeful of another big run if we can overcome the draw.
