13:50 Goodwood – Al Aasy
He ran very well last time at Newbury, finishing second in a Listed race on his opening start of the season. He is obviously a talented horse who has gone close at Group One level before.
His sole appearance at Goodwood came in the Gordon Stakes where he finished down the field. That was a messy race so I wouldn’t read too much into that. If he steps up from his first start, he will go very close here.
15:00 Goodwood – Grateful
This is a nice ride to pick up for Aidan O’Brien who has already had a great week. She won over 1m4f at the Curragh to break her maiden. It didn’t quite work out for her over 1m2f at Naas, so they stepped her back up in distance at Fairyhouse (1m6f), and she was back to her best.
She looks like a progressive filly who is well-bred, and she should run a nice race for me.
15:35 Goodwood – Mostabshir
This is his first time over 6f. He ran very well at Royal Ascot where he finished fourth in the Buckingham Palace Stakes. Last time out in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket, he encountered a couple of bumps in the early stages of the race.
We are going into the unknown here, but I think he is going to be ok over this trip. He has the speed to be competitive and hopefully, he will get a little luck in running, which you need to win a Coral Stewards Cup.
16:45 Goodwood – Moonjid
This horse ran very green on his debut in a maiden at Newbury back in May. He will need to take a big step forward on that run to be in the mix here. That said, he is a well-bred colt, and Marcus Tregoning should have him just right for this run.
17:20 Goodwood – Rowayeh
She was fourth at Royal Ascot in the Kensington Palace Stakes. We then stepped her up in trip at Chelmsford where she didn’t quite settle. This drop down to 1m1f will suit. The ground is going to be ideal. I am expecting her to run a big race.
