14:00 Goodwood – Bright Thunder
I’ve not ridden this filly before, but she has some decent 3-y-o form to her name, including a listed win in France, and she’s had a run this season, finishing fifth in a Group 3 at the Curragh last month. We’re drawn well in stall 4, I’ve enjoyed success riding for Karl Burke before, and his horses are in good form, so I hope she will run well.
15:20 Goodwood – Loraxed
Loraxed is making his debut, so didn’t run as a 2-y-o for whatever reason. I don’t know much about him but it’s his first day at school so hopefully can learn plenty and improve for the experience.
15:55 Goodwood – Mutaawid
This fellow is a brother to the top class Mostahdaf, so it’s fair to say he hasn’t quite reached the heights that one did, at least not yet! He won at Kempton last summer, but then went off the boil in two runs that followed.
He’s been gelded over the winter, which should help him, and he’s been working nicely at home. He’s s horse with plenty of ability, so if he shows that on the track, we’ve a lot to look forward to, and I’m excited to see him back in action.
17:05 Goodwood – Huscal
Huscal won a two of his three starts as a 2-y-o, and should improve for his reappearance run at Newbury last month. That was over seven furlongs, as is this, and he should appreciate that trip, so if that Newbury run has blown away the cobwebs, he should go well for me.
