14:25 Cheltenham – Copperhead and Eldorado Allen
We’ve always been supporters of these veterans’ races, as they give the opportunity for these old boys to be competitive and to continue racing, which they enjoy so much. This particular race is as deep as any in the series, including the final, as it’s a decent pot, and the ground is perfect.
Eldorado Allen ran a blinder to finish second at Warwick last time, and I’m sure he’ll improve for that run. We’ll ride him positively over this shorter trip, and the ground will suit him.
Copperhead has been in tremendous form this season, winning three times including two veterans’ races. January’s final is his target, and this fits in perfectly timewise. He is dropping back in trip, but he’ll love the ground, is in the form of his life, and as I say, it’s the right stepping stone to the Sandown race.
I really can’t split them, especially as Copperhead gets more than a stone from Eldorado Allen, so hopefully they can both run big races.
