14:00 Cheltenham – Lord Of Thunder
Lord Of Thunder had a couple of entries this week, and we chose to go in the novice handicap chase rather than taking on open company in the Plate. The novice route was always our first preference, so I’m chuffed we got into the race, he wasn’t certain to, which is why he had the two options.
I wouldn’t mind if there was a little bit of rain before Thursday, just to soften the ground up a little bit, but even without it, I think the course will suit him. We beat Pic Roc fair and square at Newbury last time, and he takes us on again, but I’d be hopeful we can confirm that running at least.
He’s a gorgeous young horse who has just kept on improving for his racing, over hurdles first and again this season over fences, and if he keeps on this upward curve, I can see him running a big race at an each-way price.
