Joe Tizzard Saturday Blog | Kempton

Coral Racing Ambassador, Joe Tizzard, previews his one runner on Saturday, Bourbali, in the Class 2 Handicap Chase.

It was a cracking day last Saturday at Ascot, especially for The Changing Man. He deserved his big day as he had been running well all season in big races but had just been running short and bumping into one. I am glad we went back to the novice route with him, and he deserved his Grade Two victory.

First Confession made the afternoon even sweeter at Ascot with his victory in the novice hurdle contest in the penultimate race. He has a bright future ahead of him. I know he was well beaten in the Grade One Coral Challow Novices’ Hurdle, but he may get another shot at the top level again soon.

16:10 Kempton – Bourbali

It’s a much quieter Saturday for us this weekend, which is no bad thing with Cheltenham just around the corner. We saddle Bourbali in the class two handicap chase. He has had a break so he should be fresh now on his return to Kempton. He loves it around this course. It is a competitive race, but he will be right in the mix.

The handicapper knows exactly where he is now, so he doesn’t get much of a lifeline from him, but this distance around Kempton is right up his street.
