13:50 Doncaster – Atherstone Warrior
I’ve ridden him a few times at home, and he is a nice horse. I think in time he will want 7f and beyond. He should like the ground and with stall 10, I think it’s a good draw. I am hoping he shows his talent, but whatever happens, he is a lovely horse for the future.
14:25 Doncaster – Expressionless
He won on soft ground at Epson and Nottingham last year early in the campaign. He has come down the weights since then but if he reproduces what he is capable of, he can be competitive off this mark. I think he has a solid each-way chance.
15:35 Doncaster – Spirit Genie
It’s great to be riding in the Lincoln. This is one of the best handicap races of the season. My horse only won a seller last year, but he was then second in a class three contest, beaten less than a length. He will like the ground at Town Moor, and he has a low weight. We are an outsider, but with low weight on bottomless ground, there is always a good chance of causing an upset and running into the top three.
Sunday
15:05 Doncaster – Parisiac
This horse is much better on grass than he is on the all-weather. He ran ok at Chelmsford two starts back. He is a horse who likes to make the running, he is fit and ready to go, and he is a C&D winner.
16:15 Doncaster – Beelzebub
I won on this horse on the all-weather at Newcastle back in January in what was only his second start for Alice [Haynes]. The race didn’t run to suit him last time out as they went too steady for him. This is his first start on grass for the season. He has been working well at home, so we are hopeful of a big run.
17:25 Doncaster – Zargun
This horse is down to a mark of 60 now, which is around 15-20lb lower than his best. Last year I was second on him in a class two handicap at York. He has come down the weights on the all-weather. He is back on turf now, and if he shows up with anything near what he is capable of, he will be a big player.
