Coral Racing Ambassador, Sean Bowen, previews his three rides on the second day of the Welsh Racing Festival at Chepstow, including Daylatedollarshort in the Silver Trophy.

14:45 Chepstow – Nimba

Nimba is a really nice horse. He won his point-to-point and then went on to win his bumper, although he was beaten under a penalty on his latest start.

He’s also a horse we’re really looking forward to getting started over hurdles with. The ground is obviously important for him. It’s dry up there at the moment, so we’ll just have to see how things develop. We’d obviously like a bit of rain to ensure the ground is ideal for him. He’s a really nice horse and one we’re excited to get over hurdles.

16:02 Chepstow – Daylatedollarshort

Daylatedollarshort progressed all of last season and finished it off with a good run in a valuable handicap at Punchestown. He was only beaten half a length that day, so he’s obviously coming into this with some good big-race handicap experience behind him.

Hopefully that experience will stand him in good stead on Saturday. It looks like a nice place to start him back. We haven’t had many winter runners yet, so it’ll be interesting to see where they are fitness-wise and how ready they are.

He’s definitely a horse who still has a bit of room for manoeuvre off his mark, and we’re hoping he can go well.

16:35 Chepstow – Muskerry Rock

Muskerry Rock is having his second start for Mickey since joining him, and he really needs to step up big time on a lot of his previous runs.

This is going to be more competitive than what he’s been running in, so he’ll need to bring his A-game. He will be off a nice racing weight, so if he does produce his best, we could run into the placings.
