Sean Bowen Saturday Blog | Aintree

07 Nov 2025
Coral Racing Ambassador, Sean Bowen, provides an exclusive preview of his seven rides at Aintree on Saturday, including White Rhino who has strong claims in the 14:40 Grand Sefton Chase for trainers Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero.

12:20 Aintree – Pertemps

Pertemps ran well in his two bumpers. He's probably a bit slow for a bumper now, so we are stepping up in trip and going over hurdles. This looks like a competitive race that he has been thrown into with potentially two or three smart ones in there. We are confident this horse will do well over hurdles and has the stamina for this trip.

12:55 Aintree – Chasing Fire

Chasing Fire is a quirky horse, but if he turns up at his best, he will pick them up and carry them off this mark. He did everything right on his last start at Perth and a 4lb rise in the weights should not harm his chances.

13:30 Aintree – Andy Amo

Andy Amo put in a good run at Fairyhouse last time in a Listed race, he was also twice a winner over hurdles. This will be the first time he jumps fences in public, but Rebecca Curtis’ runners tend to be well schooled at home. The market suggests he has a good chance and I’d have to agree with that.

14:05 Aintree – Glengouly

Glengouly has just lost his way a bit recently, but with that, he has dropped down the ratings. He is now running off a mark of 119 and if he comes back to any sort of form, he would be in the mix.

14:40 Aintree – White Rhino

I am delighted to pick up the ride of White Rhino in the Grand Sefton. Henry Brooke is off, so I got the phone call late in the day. His early season form was excellent although it tailed off a little at the back end of the season. Hopefully he is still progressive and he will take to these big fences.

I love riding around the Grand National Course. I have won this race twice before, and it would be amazing to pick up a hat-trick of wins. This is the ride I am looking forward to the most at Aintree.

15:15 Aintree – Dominic’s Fault

Dominic’s Fault had some good form last season, I thought he was cantering at Sandown when he got brought down. He hasn’t had a whole lot of racing for an eight-year-old, but he is still off a mark he can work with.

15:50 Aintree – Pureis King

Pureis King was very keen when winning at Market Rasen and that run should have taken the freshness out of him. He seems a nice horse who is good enough to carry this 7lb penalty.
