Banker of the Day
We've got the final day of the July Meeting at Newmarket this Saturday as well as John Smith's Cup Day at York, and this week's Banker of the Day covers both racedays!
We've picked out four leading contenders from four of the biggest races and are asking you, our Coral Racing Club members, if you had to vote for one to be your Banker of the Day, who would you pick?
The horse who gets the most votes will be put into an exclusive Coral Racing Club Odds Booster that will be available under Specials on the Horse Racing page shortly after the poll closes on Friday at 1pm.
Banker of the Day Preview
14:35 York – Clarendon House
Clarendon House arrives at York having won two of his last three races, including a valuable handicap race over course and distance three starts ago, and a Listed race at York last time out. P J McDonald picks up the ride, having not been onboard Clarendon House since January.
Can he make it three from four on Saturday?
15:25 Newmarket – Ancient Truth
Ancient Truth goes into Saturday's Group 2 Superlative Stakes having won on both of his previous starts, both of which came at Newmarket, with the latest coming over the seven furlong trip, which he takes on again this weekend. Godolphin's number one jockey, William Buick, rides him again today, having been at Royal Ascot when the horse last raced.
Can he remain undefeated at Newmarket?
16:00 Newmarket – Carrytheone
Carrytheone is a winner of four races in his career, out of 24 runs, with the most recent coming two starts ago over this distance on Newmarket's Rowley Mile course. He finished third out of 26 runners in the Buckingham Palace Stakes on his most recent start, which was an impressive performance. Interestingly, Ryan Moore has been booked to ride on Saturday, the first time he has done so.
Can he put in another stellar effort this weekend?
16:35 Newmarket – Inisherin
Inisherin lines up in the July Cup this year, having claimed his first Group 1 victory in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last time out. Prior to that he won the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock and he aims for a hat-trick of Group level wins this weekend. Tom Eaves rides, as he has done for the previous five Inisherin races.
