Banker of the Day – Newbury

This week our Banker of the Day heads to Newbury for their Lockinge Stakes meeting!

We've picked out the two leading contenders from two races on Saturday and are asking you, our Coral Racing Club members, if you had to vote for one to be your Banker of the Day, who would you pick?

The horse who gets the most votes will be put into an exclusive Coral Racing Club Odds Booster that will be available under Specials on the Horse Racing page shortly after the poll closes on Friday at 1pm.

Banker of the Day Preview

15:00 Newbury – London Gold Cup

Chantilly

Chantilly placed in three of his four runs as a three-year-old before scoring convincingly under Ryan Moore in his seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown last month. The colt heads over to the UK for the first time in his career this weekend for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore retains the ride looking to go back-to-back.

Can he score again at Newbury?

King's Gambit

King's Gambit has had all three of his career runs to date at Newbury, and is set to make his fourth start at the Berkshire track this Saturday. He won on his second appearance, at a shock 33/1 SP, before finishing second by a head in his next appearance. William Buick jumps onboard for the first time as the colt steps up in trip.

Can he make it two wins from four races this weekend?

15:35 Newbury – Lockinge Stakes

Big Rock

French raider, Big Rock, returns to the UK for his seasonal reappearance, after winning the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day at Ascot last time out by a wide margin of six lengths. It also marks his first start for new trainer Maurizio Guarnieri, having moved from Christopher Head's yard last month. Aurelien Lemaitre retains the ride having been on him the last eight times.

Can he claim another British Group 1 on Saturday?

Inspiral

Inspiral strung together three straight Group 1 victories to close out last season, beating Big Rock into second at Deauville in one of those races. She returns for the first time since winning the Filly and Mare Turf Breeders' Cup race at Santa Anita and Kieran Shoemark is in the hot seat for the first time, after regular partner Frankie Dettori's move to the US.

Can she make it four-in-a-row?
