Banker of the Day Preview
13:55 Newbury – Grandeur D'Ame
Grandeur D'Ame has impressed so far in his chasing career, winning three of his nine runs over the bigger obstacles, including an emphatic twenty five length victory at Wetherby three starts ago. He's proven to be versatile in terms of ground, having won contests in conditions ranging from good to heavy, so he should be able to handle the soft going at Newbury this weekend.
Can he get back to winning ways?
14:17 Kelso – Jango Baie
Jango Baie has been fantastic since making his racecourse debut in November of last year. After finishing second in his sole point-to-point start, he scored in a novice hurdle at Ascot before claiming victory in the Grade 1 Formby Novices' Hurdle at Aintree on Boxing Day. He was beaten by just over a length in his last contest, by Handstands who was in receipt of five pounds from Jango Baie, but was well clear of the rest of the field.
Can he bounce back on Saturday?
14:50 Kelso – Under Control
Under Control will look to carry the famous green and gold hoops of JP McManus to victory for the fourth time since moving to Nicky Henderson's yard. He won three out of four races towards the end of last season, including in a Grade 3 Juvenile Hurdle at Cheltenham in April. His seasonal return didn't quite go to plan, but he bounced back with a solid second place finish at Doncaster in January.
Can he go one better this weekend?
15:40 Doncaster – Some Scope
Some Scope is in incredible form right now, winning his last two races by a combined eight lengths, including a rampant display at Doncaster last time out over a slightly shorter trip of three miles. Gavin Sheehan has ridden him to his previous three victories and will partner him again on Saturday.
Can the pair land their hat-trick in the Grimthorpe?
