Banker of the Day – Derby & Oaks Trials
We've picked out the leading contenders from four races on Saturday and are asking you, our Coral Racing Club members, if you had to vote for one to be your Banker of the Day, who would you pick?
The horse who gets the most votes will be put into an exclusive Coral Racing Club Odds Booster that will be available under Specials on the Horse Racing page shortly after the poll closes on Friday at 1pm.
Banker of the Day Preview
13:50 – Aimeric
Aimeric has been successful twice in his last four runs, including last time out over a mile and four furlongs in a Class 2 contest at Beverley. He arrives at Lingfield after being off track since that day in September, and is up six pounds for that convincing victory. James Doyle is booked to ride for the third time, looking for his first win onboard the gelding.
Can he start his season with a win?
14:25 – Danielle
John and Thady Gosden's filly has ran three times so far in her career, finishing third, second and first in that order. All three were Class 5 contests and her victory was an eye-catching one, scoring by twelve lengths at Wetherby two weeks ago.
Can she go back-to-back with a victory in the Oaks Trial?
15:00 – Illinois
One of Aidan O'Brien's entries in the Derby Trial, Illinois, scored on debut at the Curragh in a two-year-old maiden race, before finishing a length behind the winner in third in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud. He was last seen finishing third in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown after a long break at the start of April, and could improve for that run.
Can Aidan O'Brien win another Derby Trial this weekend?
15:35 – Remarquee
Remarquee's last victory came over this distance at Newbury in the Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes. Since then, the Ralph Beckett-trained filly has finished second twice in Group 1 races at Newmarket and Royal Ascot, as well as a fourth place finish in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild at Deauville. She returns, down in grade, this weekend after nine months off the track, but does go well when fresh.
Can she win on her reappearance?
