QUICKTHORN won this contest last year in seriously impressive fashion, making all from the front and scoring by a colossal 14 lengths over one of today's rivals, Coltrane. He lines up here today after winning his last two contests, including the Group 1 Goodwood Cup earlier in the month. Can he win his second consecutive Lonsdale Cup today?
KYLIAN is another horse who has impressed so far this year, having never finished outside the top 3 in any of his races to date. He was most impressive two starts ago when winning the Dragon Stakes at Sandown by a widening six lengths, can he rediscover that form to win the Gimcrack?
John Quinn's enigmatic stable star HIGHFIELD PRINCESS heads the betting in the day's feature race, the Nunthorpe Stakes. The six-year-old mare won this race last year, along with two other Group 1 races. After winning the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood earlier this month, can she claim her second Nunthorpe on Friday?
ROWAYEH has won twice this year, and the three-year-old followed up those two victories with a solid 3rd place at Goodwood last time out. With Andrea Atzeni deputising for the unavailable Jim Crowley, can the filly get back to winning ways on the Knavesmire?
