Who was your Star Performer of the Weekend? – Vote today!

This Saturday saw some excellent racing from Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton, with the Ascot Chase, the Rendlesham Hurdle and the Kingwell Hurdle headlining each of the cards respectively.

The question is – who was your Star Performer of the Weekend and why?

At Ascot, HENRY'S FRIEND sprung a surprise to take the first Graded contest on the card, with a battling victory in the Reynoldstown Novices' Chase, beating Kilbeg King and strong favourite Apple Away in the process. Later in the card, PIC D'ORHY ran his rivals into the ground in the Grade 1 Ascot Chase. The Paul Nicholls'-trained gelding made all in the race and was unchallenged in the later stages of the contest, running home an easy winner by an eventual five and-a-half lengths.

At Haydock, Gary Moore continued his big race form this season, landing the Grade 2 Rendlesham Hurdle with BOTOX HAS. The eight-year-old was positioned behind the favourite Butch for much of the early running in the race, before Caolin Quinn made his move up the inside and took a narrow lead. He eventually went clear before the final hurdle and scored easily in the end.

The Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle took centre stage at Wincanton and NEMEAN LION justified his heavy favouritism, when winning in good fashion over Colonel Mustard and two-time winner of the race Goshen.
