Star Performer of the Weekend

Following the final day of York's Ebor Festival and action from Goodwood and Newmarket, we want to know who your Star Performer of the Weekend was and why.

It was Henry De Bromhead who stole the show on the Knavesmire on Saturday as Magical Zoe (11/2) landed Europe's richest handicap, the York Ebor Handicap, in convincing fashion under Billy Lee as the pair travelled strongly throughout before going clear to win by just under three lengths.

The race prior to that was the Group 2 City of York stakes, and it was won by none other than Coral Racing Club trainers, John & Sean Quinn, as Breege (33/1) bounced back to form with a perhaps surprise victory as the short priced favourite Audience (4/7) wasn't able to back up his Lennox Stakes win at Goodwood from the end of July.

On Sunday, it was David O'Meara's Estrange (11/4) who stole the spotlight in Goodwood's opener as the stunning grey Night Of Thunder three-year-old filly, who had only recently moved from the John & Thady Gosden yard, bounded clear on debut to win by five and a half lengths, no doubt being pencilled into many people's trackers in the process.

The 15:35 Class 2 Handicap was the feature race of the day at Goodwood, and it was the Ralph Beckett trained Qirat (11/4) who landed the spoils, taking the three-year-old's record to two from four so far this season, and two from two at the Sussex track following his reappearance success there in May.
