Who was your Star Performer of the Weekend? – Vote today!

This weekend saw the Dublin Racing Festival and Scottish Cheltenham Trials take place at Leopardstown and Musselburgh, with several standout performances across the cards.

The question is – who was your Star Performer of the Weekend and why?

Saturday's card at Leopardstown featured four Grade 1 contests, with only one winning favourite. The first top level race on the card saw DANCING CITY overturn even money favourite Predators Gold with a strong staying performance, before KARGESE was victorious after being able to hit the front before the last in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle.

The biggest shock of the day saw Cheltenham Arkle favourite Marine Nationale finish a disappointing fifth in the Irish Arkle, with IL ETAIT TEMPS getting up on the line to beat Found A Fifty. GALOPIN DES CHAMPS was a imperious as ever in the Irish Gold Cup, winning comfortably ahead of old rival Fastorslow.

Meanwhile at Musselburgh, INIS OIRR made all to score a seriously impressive victory in the Edinburgh National Chase for trainer Lucinda Russell.

Sunday at Leopardstown provided far fewer shocks, with only one favourite out of four getting beaten in the Grade 1 races. FACT TO FILE was already seventeen lengths ahead when Gaelic Warrior fell at the last to leave him finishing alone. This was followed by BALLYBURN winning easily in the next, before EL FABIOLO and STATE MAN completed a perfect weekend for Willie Mullins in the Dublin Chase and Irish Champion Hurdle respectively.
