Who was your Star Performer of the Weekend?

It was another great weekend of racing, with the Grimthorpe Chase from Doncaster, the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso and the Greatwood Gold Cup at Newbury as well as a whole host of fantastic Irish action.

The question is – who was your Star Performer of the Weekend and why?

At Doncaster, Pinot Rouge produced a shock to win the Listed Mares' Novices' Hurdle, winning at 20/1 having stayed on incredibly well in the final furlong. Immediately after that, Does He Know beat SP favourite, Some Scope, by three and-a-half lengths to win the Grimthorpe Chase. The only two finishers were battling all the way to the final flight where the Kim Bailey gelding managed to complete a better jump to beat Richard Hobson's six-year-old.

Just north of the border at Kelso, Personal Ambition fought off a late challenge from Jango Baie to win the Grade 2 Premier Novices' Hurdle, before Cracking Rhapsody romped home in their feature race of the day, the Morebattle Hurdle. The Listed Premier Chase saw Sean Bowen produce a masterful ride on Thunder Rock, who charged to a seven length victory with relative ease, over Donald McCain's Minella Drama.
