O'Neill team happy with All The Glory's comeback run with sights set towards Windsor in January | Raceday Highlights
All The Glory made her third appearance over fences at Exeter yesterday in the Class 3 Mares' Novices' Chase (13:00) where she came home in third place in a competitive field of three runners.
On the face of it the result may seem disappointing, but there were plenty of positives to see from her effort under Jonjo Jr. From the start of the race, Jonjo was happy to settle her in the rear of the field and allow opponents Bluey and Hollygrove Cha Cha to go toe to toe from the front. Our mare travelled nicely in behind and jumped well throughout, barring a couple of small blunders which didn't seem to impact her too much.
After being almost 10 lengths detached at one point, as they turned for home and approached the fourth fence from the finish, that gap was narrowed down to just a few lengths. The field jumped the second to last fence with Hollygroove Cha Cha in front, and the Jamie Snowden mare showed her class by bounding clear after the twelth and final obstacle, eventually going on to win by just shy of five lengths.
All The Glory wasn't able to keep up her efforts along with her other race rival, Bluey, and it was evident that the heavy ground and lack of race fitness had clearly taken it's toll, so Jonjo allowed her to come home in her own time ensuring she finished the race safe and sound. Due to the value of the race, her third place finish was still a positive result for her 10 lucky Owners for the Day, who each got to take home £183.
