Annie Mc update: She's as enthusiastic as ever

Annie Mc

Annie Mc is right where we want her to be ahead of her start next Sunday.

There’s no question as she’s got older she’s taking more work to get fit, but she’s as enthusiastic as ever and loving life, so all the signs are good.

We always let her bowl along at the front of the other horses when she’s cantering at home. She needs to be ridden quietly so she thinks she’s in charge.

She’s always needed her reappearance run, so I’m sure that will be the case this year. But she will be fit and ready to run her race at the same time, and it’s a valuable opportunity so hopefully she can go well. The main thing is for her to enjoy herself, as the run will put her spot on and ready for what we are hoping will be a successful campaign.

We don’t want the ground to be too heavy at Carlisle, but I don’t think that will be the case, and we also don’t want the ground to be too quick. Ideally, we’ll have decent good to soft ground as that would suit her perfectly. We’re all excited to get her back on the track.

Race: Sunday 27th November – Carlisle – 2:00 Mares' Listed Chase
