Cast No Shadow has pulled up well after his disappointing performance at Catterick on Wednesday which is good news.

He jumped and travelled well, but as soon as he hit one of the bumps and undulations, he downed tools and wasn’t very brave about the event.

We have tried three times on grass now and they have, by someway, been his worst runs. I think for the time being at least, we should certainly stick to the all-weather. It is frustrating that he won’t head to Chester’s May Meeting, but I don’t think there is any point in aiming in that direction now.

We will see how he is over the next week or so and make a plan going forward.
