It's been seven months since we last saw Cave Article in action, however trainer Christian Williams is hopeful that we won't have to wait much longer before his return to action.

The start of 2026 saw Cave Article get back into the fold down in South Wales as work began to get him back up to speed for the back end of this National Hunt season. It's been a few weeks of solid work as the team at Ogmore Farm have continued to build his fitness up through gentle canters on the sand gallop, to schooling over fences, as well as full gallops on the beach at Ogmore-by-Sea.

He had a gastro scan when the vet was at the yard recently, just to make sure he was healthy and didn't have any lingering issues that he'd picked up whilst he was away from the main yard. Thankfully that came back showing no concerns and Cave Article's work is set to step up once more to make sure he's primed for his 2026 reappearance.

Hopefully that shouldn't be too far away, with Christian Williams beginning to look through the book now to find something for him over the next three or four weeks.
