Phoenix Of Dreams' debut on hold after pulling up lame following final piece of work

16 Nov 2023
We were all set to declare Phoenix Of Dreams on Wednesday morning for the maiden at Newcastle on Friday, but sadly he just pulled up lame in his hind legs after his piece of work, so we’ve had to give him a little bit of recovery time.

It’s very frustrating when things like this happen, but it’s not uncommon, particularly with young horses, and he just appears to have pulled a muscle, so it should just mean a few days rest before we can return him to his usual work routine.

We’d done all his stalls work to get him ready for Newcastle, and he’d taken to it really well, so the positive thing is once he’s over this little setback he’ll be raring to go and ready to make his debut.

We’ll keep everybody updated with his progress, and we’ll keep one eye on the programme over the coming weeks and see what suitable races there are coming up for him.
