Pop Star comes close again with a second place finish at Musselburgh | Raceday Highlights
Pop Star racked up another 358 miles last Friday, as he made the long journey from Newmarket to Musselburgh for his third run in Scotland since joining the Coral Racing Club's ranks.
Following a couple of positive runs at Hamilton, Alice Haynes decided to send Pop Star back to Scotland for his latest run, on the East Coast this time over the five furlong trip at Musselburgh. Hollie Doyle made the rare trip to Musselburgh, and Alice made the exciting decision to requisition her talents onboard Pop Star for his fourth start in the Coral Racing Club colours.
Pop Star made a great start and burst out the stalls with aplomb, before Doyle reined him in slightly to get cover from the early pacesetters, Protest Rally and Ziggy's Triton. As the race progressed, Pop Star continued up the outside of the pack and went on from the field, in pursuit of Ziggy's Triton who had taken the sole lead of the race from two furlongs out.

Alice Haynes confirmed that he came out of the race in great order and that he looked as though he was ready to go again following the contest. Thankfully, she hasn't had to wait long to find him another suitable outing, as she's entered him for another race in the north, this time at Doncaster on Saturday 16th August.
