Sean Bowen Saturday Preview: I'm expecting him to have an excellent chance
12:36 Bangor – Iontach Cheval
He won at Warwick off only one pound lower than he is faced with here. He was then disappointing at Cheltenham in a tougher contest. Fortunately, he has had a prep run now, as he was third at Sandown last month. It doesn’t look like the strongest race in the world, so hopefully, he comes into this with a nice chance.
13:11 Bangor – Transatlantic
We went into our last race at Ayr expecting to win with this horse. He was travelling nicely throughout and then by two out, we were tailed off. He has had a wind-op since, so that procedure should have helped him. I still think there is more improvement in this horse.
13:44 Bangor – Kilbarry Hill
He ran well on his first run for Olly Murphy, finishing third of 17 runners at Warwick. He is not a horse that shows a lot at home, but Olly was encouraged by his debut under rules, as he was only two lengths behind the winner. If he steps up on that run, we should go close here.
14:21 Bangor – Act Of Authority
He got kicked at the start when he was a short price last time, so Olly has done some work with him since. Hopefully, he will not be as fresh at the start on this occasion. He ran in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham earlier in the season. This is obviously a much easier assignment, so I am expecting him to have an excellent chance.
15:31 Bangor – Gallonray
I don’t know much about this horse, but it doesn’t look like the most competitive bumper, with just four runners in it. I rode him out yesterday and he seemed in good form. It will be the first day at school for him and we will learn a lot about him.
