Sycamore's time at the Coral Racing Club comes to an end |

21 Feb 2025
Following the expiration of his lease with the Club, Sycamore is now set to return back to...

Sycamore joined the Club with trainer Scott Dixon back in March last year with Conservative going the other way as he headed to Joe Tizzard's yard.

Prior to joining, Sycamore had put in a string of decent performances including a win at Newcastle, so we were looking forward to seeing if he could continue his progression through the spring and summer months.

It didn't take long for him to make his debut for the Club after joining, and despite going off at 20/1, he managed to hit the frame at Southwell in April by coming home in third place which was a really promising start. Unfortunately he failed to back that up on turf next time out, however, following a short break, he returned to action at Nottingham in June and won in great style under jockey Phil Dennis.

That victory was part of a memorable 66/1 across the card double on the day for the Coral Racing Club, as it was followed by Cast No Shadow also landing the spoils at Newcastle for trainer Hugo Palmer.

Five weeks later we headed back to Nottingham as Sycamore went in search of back-to-back wins, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. After being slowly away from the gates, he was never able to get into the race, and eventually came home in last place on that occasion.

Following a series of minor setbacks since that run, that turned out to be Sycamore's final run in Coral Racing Club silks.
