Raceday LIVE Preview

We're excited to head to Aintree today as All The Glory is set to become the Coral Racing Club's first runner at the home of the Grand National.

It's been just over two weeks since we saw All The Glory make her chase debut at Chepstow, where she was beaten just over a length in a trappy two-runner race. She travelled nicely throughout the contest that day and put in some smart jumps, especially when getting in close a couple of times, and given it was her first run since April, she will have no doubt come on a lot for the outing.

Last Saturday, trainers Jonjo & AJ O'Neill welcomed over 40 Coral Racing Club members and guests to the famous Jackdaws Castle training facility in the Cotswolds. Whilst we were there, we thought it'd be a great opportunity to capture first-hand what AJ thought of All The Glory's chase debut by getting him to re-watch the race. Check out the video below to find out what he had to say.

Today's contest at Aintree will obviously be very different compared to All The Glory's chase debut, as she will have five rivals to battle against compared to one. Each of her five opponents have different claims, but only one of them has previous chase experience, so hopefully she can put hers to good use against the four others who will be facing the bigger obstacles for the first time.

All The Glory has to shoulder 11st10lb in today's race due to her rating over hurdles which was transferred to this code, and that won't make life easy for her against a field full of younger, unexposed runners. Despite winning over further over hurdles, AJ O'Neill has opted to keep All The Glory over two miles today, so it will be interesting to see if jockey Jonjo O'Neill Jr can get her into a good rhythm early on as we know she's a strong traveller and so that will definitely help.

All The Glory made an encouraging start to her chase care when second in a match race at Chepstow. Not given a hard time late on, she’s likely to progress for that experience but may ultimately show her best over a slightly longer distance.

Beau Quali also made his chasing debut in a two-runner event coming home in front of All The Glory’s stablemate Anyharminasking at Warwick and should have plenty more to offer for a stable in form with cheek pieces applied. But the one to beat may prove to be Tom Doniphon who had some solid form over hurdles last year but looks the type to do better now switched to fences. His stable are back among the winners and he could be well handicapped though there are reasons to be positive about each of these and it looks likely to be a warm race.

Trainer and Jockey Statistics

Jonjo & AJ O'Neill
have been in the winners enclosure twice in the past 10 days. Since the father and son due officially joined forces, they've worked up an impressive strike-rate at Aintree including four winners and two seconds from 21 runners.

Jonjo O'Neill Jr rode both the aforementioned winners for his dad and brother, with those being his only victories in the saddle since returning from injury which came just a couple of weeks. Jonjo has plenty of experience riding at Aintree with a total of 89 runs under his belt, including seven wins and a further 21 top three finishes.
