How to ride a Cheltenham Festival winner | Walking the course with Tom Scudamore

05 Mar 2026
Ahead of the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, we caught up with legendary ex-jockey Tom Scudamore to find out more about the best way to attack the track at the home of Jumps racing.

Throughout his career in the saddle, Tom rode 59 winners at Prestbury Park, including the likes of Western Warhorse and Thistlecrack for trainer David Pipe, so it's fair to say he probably knows more than most when it comes to talking about riding at Cheltenham.

From the unique differences between the 'Old Course' and the 'New Course', to which position you want to find yourself in when taking the bend at the bottom of the hill, Tom takes us through the key positions on the track and goes into detail about where you'd ideally be wanting to find yourself at various different points in the race.

Tune in to our racing exclusive as we dive into those topics and much more!
