Annie Mc skips Huntingdon to focus on Exeter in a couple of weeks

Annie Mc
We made the decision to miss Huntingdon this Friday, and instead wait for Exeter in February for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, the ground at Huntingdon looks as if it will be a bit quicker than she ideally needs it – if we were to take on Zambella again we would want everything in our favour – and secondly, the Exeter race, on February 12th, is over three miles, and at this stage of her career, we think she would appreciate the extra distance.

We haven’t run her over three miles since 2019, and that was over hurdles. She’s clearly much stronger now than she was then, so we’re as sure as we can be that she’ll get the extra distance. The Exeter race also carries Listed status, like the Huntingdon race, so we’re not losing anything in terms of the status of the contest, and we’re almost guaranteed to get the softer going she so enjoys.
