WATCH: Aspire To Glory becomes the first flat winner for the Coral Racing Club | Raceday Highlights
The club's two-year-old gelding, trained by Alice Haynes, was making his eighth start and was dropped back to seven furlongs, after a tough race over a mile in November.
The race itself wasn't all plain sailing for Aspire To Glory however. He was drawn wide in stall thirteen and went immediately left after coming out of the gates. He did settle into the race nicely from that point on, sitting in behind most of the field and getting some cover before apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes moved him to the outside and sent him for home. Our gelding didn't set a foot wrong from that point, bolting home strongly to win by an eventual half length.
The victory was the icing on the cake for Aspire To Glory's lucky Owners for the Day, with several of them making the trip south to Kempton for the race and to be able to experience the victory in person on the day. Each of them also took home £248 in prize money to top off the incredible day.
