Aspire To Glory | Post-race update following his solid Wolverhampton fourth and an interview with Christian Howarth
Drawn in stall nine of ten, it was always going to be a tough ask to get a favourable position at the beginning of the race and after an awkward start in which he edged to the left, jockey Christian Howarth decided to hold him up in the rear of the field to get closer to the inside.
Our gelding was the back marker coming round the final bend, at which point Christian asked him for more, and he duly obliged, picking off runners one by one before getting towards the head of the field inside the final furlong.
Unfortunately, he didn't have anymore to give in the closing stages of the race and failed to make an impression, as others in the leading group began to pull away, leaving Aspire To Glory to finish an eventual two lengths back in fourth position.

Trainer Alice Haynes gave us this update the morning after Aspire To Glory's run at Wolverhampton:
"Aspire To Glory has come out of his race well and shaped okay considering how the race was run.
He is never going to make it easy for himself as that’s just who he is, but when a race falls right he has more than enough ability to be taking advantage at this level.
We’ll kick on with him on the all-weather and he’ll continue to go racing with his chance every time he runs."
