WATCH: Aspire To Glory scores his fourth victory with a terrific performance at Newcastle
It was only Aspire To Glory's second trip to Gosforth Park, having struggled over the straight mile there in January, against one of the same rivals he faced this time out. Jockey Rowan Scott, who rode him on his only other appearance at Newcastle, suggested that he would benefit from a drop in trip on the straight if he were to go back to the Northumberland track, and sure enough Alice Haynes took that thought onboard and dropped him back to seven furlongs for Tuesday's run there.
In his last run, which came at the start of March at Southwell, Aspire To Glory became worked up in the stalls prior to the race beginning, which affected his performance on the day. Thankfully, this time out, he was much calmer before the contest had began and this was easy to see when he broke well and took up his usual prominent position just in behind the early pace setter, Saisons d'Or.

Aspire To Glory remained in second place for the first four furlongs of the contest, before pulling alongside Saisons d'Or just after passing the three furlong marker, before taking the lead of the race with two furlongs to travel. From there on out the horses that had been dropped in began to mount their challenge and it looked as though it was only a matter of time before one of either Bomb Squad, Cloch Nua or Rooska would pass our four-year-old, but Aspire To Glory battled on gamely inside the final furlong and refused to be headed, eventually powering on to win by half a length, going away from the field once more.
WATCH: Kieran O'Neill breaks down Aspire To Glory's brilliant performance at Newcastle

'Aspire To Glory is fine after last night's win. Congratulations, it was great to see him put his head down and really battle, it was a very different performance to his Wolverhampton win.
The stiff seven suited, we know he gets further and now with the turf almost here that gives us a few more options.
We will give him a couple of weeks as he appreciates time between races and look for something suitable.'
Check back soon to find out where Aspire To Glory will be heading next, as he looks to land his fifth win for the Coral Racing Club!
