Aspire To Glory | Highlights from Chelmsford win and a key update from trainer Alice Haynes on unfortunate Laytown ruling
This is what the Coral Racing Club team were asking each other after Aspire To Glory gained his fourth win of the year in fine style at Chelmsford last Thursday, taking his career earnings to over £28,000.

Now for a horse who has never been rated higher than 59, that is some effort, and as a result of the win, we thought that the potential trip to Laytown on Thursday 4th September as mentioned a couple of weeks became a real possibility.
However, despite entering Aspire To Glory in the race he was targeting a few days ago, due to an unfortunate rule set by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI), Alice was contacted yesterday and informed that racehorses trained in the UK are not eligible to run in races below 0-80.
We spoke to Alice after the call and this is what she had to say:
"We were all so excited about the prospect of running Aspire To Glory at Laytown Races on the sand, given they’d introduced a new lower grade race, a 0-60, over his ideal trip seven furlongs. So having entered him a few days ago, I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to receive a call from HRI to inform me that UK trained horses are not allowed to run in races below 0-80 level, something neither I nor any of my colleagues were aware of.
It’s such a shame as I am sure the participation of a popular horse like Aspire To Glory from England, with thousands of Coral Racing Club members watching the race on TV and in shops, would have been great publicity for the meeting. But what can we do. Despite the unfortunate situation, we're delighted that Aspire To Glory continues to be in fantastic form and I am sure there is more to come from him in the coming weeks."
