WATCH: 'There's plenty to come, we're really pleased with him' – Joe Tizzard on Diamond Days' progress and plans for next season
With Joe's team in flying form at the moment, he's keen to get Diamond Days back in action over the next couple of weeks. See below what else he had to say on his plans for our four-year-old son of Diamond Boy.
'It was his handicap debut at Lingfield so you're never quite sure how they are going to perform from their opening mark, but I think he proved he will be successful in the near future.
He came back from Lingfield a little sore, as a horse ran into the back of him in the race, so we gave him a week off. He worked very well recently on the gallops, so I’ve identified a race at Wincanton for him on Thursday 6th March. It's a Class 5 race for horses rated 0-100, and he's now off a mark of 92 after going up 2lb for his 2nd place finish at Lingfield.
At some point he may get further than 2m, but we are just sticking to the minimum trip for now, especially if the ground is testing.'
