Greek Symphony puts in an impressive performance to finish third on debut at Goodwood | Raceday Highlights
All eyes were on the sunny Sussex Downs last Friday, as Greek Symphony lined up for the opening race on the card at Goodwood. Drawn in a slightly unhelpful stall one, our two-year-old filly began the race at the rear of the field, whilst trying to move closer to the inside of the straight six furlong track. She appeared to be pulling quite hard during the opening stages of the race, but picked up the coattails of the leaders around halfway down the track. Rob Hornby positioned her well for a run at the odds favourite that was at the front of the field, but Greek Symphony's inexperience caught up with her in the closing stages and she dropped back to third, but comfortably ahead of fourth as they crossed the line.
WATCH: Oliver Cole believes that Greek Symphony could have gotten closer with a better draw and firmer ground
Greek Symphony's Owners for the Day with trainer, Oliver ColeWe caught up with Oliver Cole over the weekend to see how Greek Symphony had come out of the race and what to expect next and he had this to say:
"Greek Symphony performed admirably on her debut at Goodwood and she's come out of the race really well. She's eaten up well over the weekend and she trotted up fine on Saturday morning too. There's a race at Newbury on the 23rd, which is another Class 4 banded contest which could be good for her. We'll keep an eye on her this week and make a decision closer to the time as to whether or not we'll run her there or wait for something else."
Check back soon to find out if Greek Symphony will head to Newbury next week and how you could be there in attendance as one of her Owners for the Day!
